Sean McCabe from Seanwes, an experienced hand letterer and entrepreneur has launched a 2.0 version of his ‘Learn Lettering’ classes. In the not so distant past Sean created ‘Learn Lettering’, a series of very in depth classes to suit those interested in different lettering paths. The paths including classes for beginners, intermediate letterers and those wanting to become lettering masters. Over the past few months Sean has been working very hard and has refreshed and updated his classes. Yesterday he announced that the new 2.0 version of ‘Learn Lettering’ was live.
Starter Class
Not only has his update brought a change in content of his classes but also a change in prices too. Originally his Starter Class for hand lettering beginners was one that you had to pay for, but now he’s made it FREE! This is pretty generous of him as it’s made up of 14 videos and some very helpful content, especially if you are just starting out at lettering. The Starter Class includes videos on ‘Typographic Terms and Deliberate Practice’, ‘How to Draw Three Common Lettering Styles’, and ‘Digitising Hand Lettering’. This is some pretty awesome content to get for free. Also as an extra you get ‘Learn Lettering Masters’, which is a course made up of tips and practice by successful and established hand letterers. Scott Biersack who was last months ‘Lettering Legend’ here on Lettering Tutorial is included in the ‘Learn Lettering Masters’ class.
Master Class
If you sign up to the Master Class Sean will guide you through improving your lettering, growing an audience and making a living. From what I can see of the modules the Master Class is made up of, Sean covers just about everything you could need to know about hand lettering. It takes you beyond just knowing how to letter, and teaches you how to make a career out of it. If you’re just learning lettering as a bit of a hobby, then the Master Class probably isn’t for you. However if you want to work as a hand letterer and earn money from your work, then this class is definitely worth considering. As I write this article on the 28th July 2015, the Master Class is also priced at an introductory rate of $447 instead of $699 until tomorrow. So that’s a lot of content, 75 videos in total for a very good price. The price will return to $699 tomorrow but even at that price, the class still offers fantastic value from what I can see!
Intermediate Class
The Intermediate Class is made up of everything the Master Class includes except the business modules. So this class would be useful if you’re wanting to reach a high level of skill with your hand lettering, but are perhaps not interested in monetising your work. The Intermediate Class is priced at $299, so again great value for the content of 45 videos included.
I’m not in anyway affiliated with Seanwes and Sean McCabe, I just feel his different classes could offer you a lot of value, no matter where you are in your lettering journey. If you’re not at the point where you want to commit financially to a course, I definitely recommend signing up for the free Starter Class. I’ve signed up to it, and it looks like an opportunity not to be missed so far!
