Welcome to Lettering Tutorial
Hello I’m Tam and I’m the Founder of Lettering Tutorial, I write, research, create and curate for the site. I graduated from University with an Art and Design degree. After many years working in technology, I now work as a freelance lettering artist and illustrator who does a bit of coding too.
I originally started Lettering Tutorial to document my adventures in lettering, as despite having an art degree it was not something I had previously explored. I think it’s important to see how to learn something new from the beginning ( everybody has to start somewhere ), and keep track of helpful resources. Over time Lettering Tutorial has grown into so much more than just a place to share my lettering progress. The site has developed a community with a thriving Newsletter membership, hosts a series of ‘Lettering Legend’ interviews with truly amazing lettering artists, and houses many other features too. The pages Resources, Tutorials and Beginners can be great places to get started finding your way around the site.
The main goal I have for Lettering Tutorial is to help you. Wherever you are on your lettering adventure I want to provide you with helpful resources and tutorials that aid you in getting started, progressing further and that just inspire you too. I know there are some great lettering sites on the web already, however, I wanted to create something that uniquely brings hand lettering, brush lettering and calligraphy together!
I also manage the groups Hand Lettering HQ and Brush Lettering on Facebook. Combined, there are thousands of group members who share work, helpful tips, ask questions and share answers.
