Christmas is getting pretty close now so I just wanted to wish you happy holidays & a happy new year through the art of lettering and animation!
Everything in the animation was created by me except for the music, I only have limited skills at playing the guitar and piano! I created the background in photoshop, I drew out the lettering in pencil, and imported it into some animation software. Next I traced all of the paths for each letter placing points, then individually animated each letter.
I’m giving away a little Christmas gift of a wallpaper image for your phone, tablet or computer that will be available exclusively to Newsletter subscribers only. So you have until Wednesday the 23rd 2015 9am PST / 5pm GMT time to join the Newsletter.
Seasonal Features
If you’ve stumbled upon this post looking for lettering ideas for the holiday season I’ve featured three tutorials throughout December.
Creating Festive Hand Lettered Cards With Emma Holmes – Emma takes you step by step through her process of making hand lettered reindeer Christmas cards.
Seasonal Gift Tags In Four Steps With Belinda Love Lee – Belinda shows you how to make your gift tags more interesting and sentimental. She also has a post on her own blog showing you how to make your own DIY gift wrapping which goes great with her gift tag tutorial.
Hand Lettering A Gift For The Holiday – I show you how to create a gift which you can then frame from a hand lettered quote or phrase.
I’ll be taking a little break over the Christmas period to spend some time with my family, so all things Lettering Tutorial will return early-ish January with new content for 2016!
Christmas Wishes
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and that the new year gets off to a great start for you. January always seems to be a good time of year for taking up new hobbies or starting new challenges. If you haven’t really got fully started with hand lettering yet, maybe the approaching new year and Lettering Tutorial will be the inspiration you need!
