On Lettering Tutorial I announced a platform I’d been working on called Typefolk. With Typefolk it was my intention to create a one of a kind platform designed to award and recognise individuals specialising in the lettering arts on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
The platform launched with a panel of professional judges who possess years of experience and has moved from strength to strength. I was very proud earlier this month to award our highest honour (2020 Lettering Legend) and have some very exciting plans lined up for 2021.
To kick things off I am thrilled to announce a collaboration with the talented team over at Typism! Our two teams have come together to create a brand new award on the Typefolk platform and a winner will be announced during April this year!
Typism was founded by Dominique Falla who is an Associate Professor at Griffith University in Australia. She has been an active member of the Typefolk judges panel since early launch. With Dominique’s skills, expertise and the fact that Typism is a household name within the lettering world I am very much enjoying the opportunity to collaborate with her and the Typism team.
If you’d like to be considered for the ‘2021 Typefolk x Typism Community Crossover Award’ simply…
· Visit typefolk.com/enter
· Submit the best or your favourite piece of lettering, type or calligraphy artwork you’ve created
· If it gets published on Typefolk between 14th Feb and 21st March you’re in with a chance of earning this new trophy!
Typism will be looking for a piece that really catches their eye, so even if your artwork doesn’t progress to the next stage of the core Typefolk awards it may still be selected!
Submitting work into the Typefolk awards is currently free. Best of luck to everyone who enters, we’re looking forward to seeing all the artwork submissions!
